New Post!!!

I figured it was about time I posted something new on here and updated a little bit since I have a chance.
Dan recovered well from having his trach put in. He gets alot of infections and has one right now actually but since he has direct access right to the lungs it is pretty unavoidable. He is still on oxygen at night to keep the airway moistened but he has adapted to having it quite well other than having alot of pain and all the other inconveniences and discomforts that come with it. He leads a pretty normal life. He his hoping to get a speaking valve shortly and hopefully will be able to go back to work at the 911 Center as long as the insurance all works out. His supplies per month for the trach run quite high so he has to have insurance right away so they are hoping to work it out for him. So if you think pray about it that everything will work out how God wants it to. He actually is able to talk well without a speaking valve but in order to work at the center he has to have one with everything that is involved with working there. Daniel also turned the big 30 this year on August 25.
I am still working at Stagers. I enjoy it for the most part it is just down the road 2 miles from the house and I finally worked up to the schedule Mon-Fri 8-4:30 and saturdays off so I definately enjoy that. They are closed on sundays. I have been there since August 2008. Other than working, keeping up with house, and taking care of Daniel's trach I havent really been up to much else. I am hoping to soon get a car so I can get involved in a little more.
Hunter is still being himself. He will be 2 in January it is hard to believe we have had him that long already and he is so much fun most of the time:-)
They recently jacked our house up which was a big blessing since it was pretty much falling in. So we have to let it settle for another month yet and then hopefully we can start painting and fixing it a little bit after the repair some of it. We love living there for the most part.
That is pretty much all the news with us. Although I will add that Bro. Ewald who I was posting about last has come a long way and has been in and out of the hospital quite a bit had some infections and one doctor really messed him up by reading a wrong chart and did the wrong thing so they have been trying to get him straightened up from that, but he was just in Pittsburgh for several weeks and got to come home. He is on the heart and kidney transplant list. So when you think of him pray. He has to have these or it will not be good.
Our 2nd anniversary is on Monday, Oct 12 and it is hard to believe we have been married 2 years already I was just thinking the other day it just seems like we were just getting ready for the wedding. All time is sure flying and it has been a wonderful two years being married to Daniel although we have faced some things we never thought we could face on less than two years but God has brought us through and we have drawn closer through it all even though it wasnt a pleasure going through it. I am looking forward to wonderful years ahead.
That's the update for now and hopefully I will post more often. Martie

Checkin' In

Thought I would let you all know how its going. Daniel is doing much better and has come a long way except for a few issues. He is able to eat regular food/drinks which he is thoroughly happy about that he was not liking the pureed food at all but he did eat so they could see if he tolerated it so they could advance him. They do have him on an 1800 calorie diet/watching his sugar.

The family docotor told him yesterday he could most likely go home today but we have a slight problem. Unfortunately he didnt get insurance until next month through work. So when he goes home he has to have quite a bit of supplies(as you know medical supplies are quite expensive at this point) which we cannot afford at this point so we have a huge problem bringing him home. Also he has to be with someone 24/7 in case his trach gets blocked. He knows what to do but when you cant breathe you just cant do what needs to be done. I have to work and cant afford to go part time or quit since he isnt able to work at this point so that is where we are with bringing him home. Yesterday was 3 weeks that he has been in and what a 3weeks it has been. I never dreamed what we would face this new year when it dawned but here we are and God has always been with us, providing even in the midst of all these things. Just pray with us about what I mentioned God always provides a way (we definately know that from the past over and over) He has never let us down and never will and He will be there to help with the new circumstances that we are facing. We just place it in His hands knowing He is in control of everything.

Mom is doing well. Getting tired of not being able to do much except sit. She did get out Sunday to visit Daniel which he quite happy with his unexpected company. They plan on taking her stitches out tomorrow.

That is pretty much all the news with us.
Until next time, Martie

Just wanted to post an update on here.

Mom had her surgery yesterday on her foot and did well. She didnt have any pain until this morning. She dosent like not being able to do much for her self.

Dan had his trach inserted yesterday and everything went well. He is just having alot of pain and discomfort with trying to get used to it. The nurse this morning said he did well but he is just agitated some.

Thank you guys so much for praying for both of them. Just keep praying as they continue to recover and mostly that Dan would get used to his trach. That is the big thing at this point.
Thanks again and I will update as much as I can.
